John Adams resignation from the board of Southend United was announced on 2nd December 1999. It is rumoured that the club had wanted Adams to leave for some time but, as he was a paid director, it would have been virtually impossible to oust him.
It has not been proven that John Adams has committed any wrongdoing in his capacity as a director of the club. Therefore, he could have put forward a strong case for wrongful dismissal had he been sacked.
John Adams resignation is effective from Thursday, 16th December 1999. Peter Storrie had effectively replaced him five months previously.
